Another trip to the pet warehouse this afternoon, where I discovered the source of the realistic sounding imitation pheasants that Megan and Henry had let me play with. Well, I had to have one, so I helped myself from the shelf. It was a tough choice though, the ducks sounded very tempting too!
The pheasant seems to have as much trouble on the fake-wood floor as I do, it was losing control and skidding into things, but I can skid faster! It doesn't fly very well, it tumbles in the air and crashes into a heap on every flight. I suspect it's down to the incredibly small fake wings it has.
I have to admit though, I have a lot of respect for these fake pheasants, no matter how much I shake it, stomp on it, tug its head and feet or smack it off things really hard, it keeps making that realistic-sounding noise!
It has to lose some merit though, even with Furry-face and Chewy helping it, it still can't figure out flying - when will it just give up?
(maybe after I remove one of its legs??)

no kiddies allowed…
As the rain stopped, I got taken out to play with my friend Tess.
There were lots of Giants there, all with chewy-straps on gadgets. Some kind of get-together where they all take each others' photo, or something? Tess wasn't interested, she wanted to see why there were people in the distance running after balls, she even managed to join in for a while. I couldn't escape to join her, but I tried.
After it got dark, the Giants took over an enclosed area with lots of monuments for children to play on. Things to climb on, run around, jump over and a few traps thrown in, Tess and I were both caught out by the slippery slope trap. It looked like a little ramp up to the monuments, but it had been greased or something, we tried it a few times, but kept sliding back to the start.
We ran around together for ages, no ropes getting in the way, but it was really dark, she has a lo of black hair, and I lost her. Turns out she was behind me!?

body armour?
For a while now, I've been aware of some small sunny boxes within the Giant's HQ. They light up during the day and become quite warm, appearing to contain some kind of tropical climate.
Well, I discovered today that there are inhabitants in these warm worlds! I met one the Giants call "Dax", he's an odd creature that seems to be able to cling to vertical surfaces, although he's quite fast across the slidey fake-wood floor, he's very good at skidding to a stop. I investigated with a lick or two, but he wears some kind of spiky body armour, it hurt my tongue. He was watching me with his beady eyes, and then he licked me back - from nearly a foot away?!
He ran and skidded across the floor, I wanted to play too, but I seemed to be pinned to the floor by my rear end, must be some side effect of the spikes or long tongue-lick? He returned across the room and climbed the wall back into his warm world, where he was fed some jumpy-things.
Now that I know he's in there, I can sit and watch him from in front of his world, he seems to want out to play, running back and forth in front of me, he waves at me a lot.
